The pilgrimage tour of Amritsar.

                          AMRITSAR TOUR

Home of the glorious Golden Temple, the iconic city of Amritsar, portrays the heroic character of the Punjab. Amritsar is the spiritual and cultural centre of the Sikh Religion. This place is also famous for its Jallianwala Bagh massacre and its proximity to Wagah Border.

Places to visit :
1.Golden Temple, Amritsar

One of the most spiritual places in India, Golden Temple, also known as Sri Harmandir Sahib, is the holiest shrines in Sikhism .
It is located right in the heart of Amritsar and is easily reachable from any part of the city. Serving as a symbol of brotherhood and equality, Golden Temple is visited by people from all over the world.
The spiritual focus is
the tank, the Amrit Sarovar, which surrounds the glistening central shrine.

2.Jallianwala Bagh, Amritsar

Located near the famous Golden Temple of Amritsar, Jallianwala Bagh is a public garden that also houses a memorial to commemorate the massacre of peaceful celebrators by the British forces.
Spread over 6.5 acres of land, Jallianwala Bagh is associated with one of the saddest days in Indian History when thousands of innocent people were killed on the orders of General Dyer as they gathered for a peaceful celebration of Baisakhi.

             3.Wagah Border, Amritsar

Located at a distance of 22 km from Lahore and 28 km from Amritsar, Wagah Border marks the boundaries between Indian and Pakistani borders.
It runs along the Grand Trunk Road between Amritsar in Punjab, India, and Punjab in Lahore, Pakistan.
People from all over the country visit this place to witness the Beating Retreat Ceremony that is held every day before sunset. This ceremony includes the closing of the international gates and lowering the flags of both countries.
                MY AMRITSAR EXPERIENCE
Day 1
We reached amritsar on 6 August 2019 at 10pm . We were group of 11people travelling from Chandigarh to amritsar in order to seek blessings and witness the beauty of golden Temple.
After having dinner at one of the local dhabba (restaurant) . We headed towards the temple , it was about 3km distance. So we decided to walk πŸ‘£. After an hour of tiring walk πŸ‘£ we finally reached the most holiest place of Sikh religion "Sri Harmindar sahib".
The surrounding palace was incredibly beautiful with white tiles and lighted up with beautiful lights.
The inner core was the delight to watch as the AKAL TAKHAT was shinning gold in that dark night.

After entrance we took a holistic bath in the tank that surrounds the shrine. It was 12am and we were full of excitement. We changed our clothes and got ready to enter in the main Hall (AKAL TAKHAT) where the 11th guru of Sikhism is kept THE GURUGRANTH SAHIB .
The entry gate of main shrine opens around 3 in morning. So we waited in the queue .

After entering the shrine. The beauty and ceremony inside made me holistic and brought goosebumps.
At that time I was feeling very close to God and myself. After taking darshan we ate parshad and sat near the tank . That was the best moment and place to introspect.
After darshan.... We served in the temple by cleaning utensils and then we ate langar at 4am in morning. We spend the whole night at the peaceful temple as I felt very close to God πŸ˜‡πŸ™πŸ‘Ό.
This day was one of the most beautiful and different day of my life where I left all the greed of the world and lived a day like a saint.

DAY 2
we started the day around 1after 5-6 hour of sleep in nearby gurudwara.
On 7th sep we visited to a historic place of jallianwala Bagh. Which has the saddest history of our time. It was place where 1000 Hindus, Muslims and Sikhs lost their lives in this brutal assault.
A number of structures are present inside the premises which resound of the atrocities that occurred here. These include a wall which still bears the marks of the bullets that were hurled blindly at the civilians and a well in which many people jumped to save themselves from the onslaught of the bullets.

After witnessing this historic place we went out for the tour of local nearby market. The jallianwala Bagh market .
Which has some worlds famous shops of Punjabi kulcha, naan, shoes, clothes etc.

These 2 days were amazing and new life Experiencing day of my life. I learned many things. I witness a different part of world. I witness a new religion, culture, tradition and language.

This trip was made successful with the help of my best friend and classmate @suteekshna trivedi.

Posing at Dal lake, Dharmshala

        Posing at Dal lake, Dharmshala
                      PC @arjunsingh
We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure. There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open.
My first visit to dharmshala was amazing... And it was made possible only with the help of my dear friend ARJUN .πŸ˜‡
We often come across nature's beauty. Living in concrete jungles, we often tend to forget the sublime power of nature .but when we do find ourselves once again surrounded by luscious trees, mesmisring mountains and gushing waters, the majesty of it all takes our breath away. Thats exactly the kind of effect dharmshala has on you.
One of the beautiful place that I came across during my visit was DAL LAKE . A perfect spot for photography and for nature lover.
Do visit DAL lake when you visit dharmshala. Dal lake is filled with greenish water. The lake is shielded by the rugged mountains and luscious forest of deodar trees. On the bank of the Dal lake, tourists can see the famous Shiva temple.
Dal lake is mostly visited by tourist during the month of September as a fair is organized on the bank of the lake which is attended by the people of the Gaddi tribe in a large number. The fair is celebrated to mark the presence of Lord Shiva. Dal lake is a perfect site to laze around with picnic baskets as one can enjoy boating and many other activities.
I'm sure you will have a great time there .πŸ˜‡
THANK You!
